Drawing is my default setting and I swear I've been in love with it since I picked up my first crayon. I come from a highly DIY family and love to experiment with different forms and materials that help inform my illustration work.
After graduating from the University of Miami in Florida, I went on to earn my M.F.A. in Illustration from the Savannah College of Art and Design. It was my two years at SCAD that solidified my dream of pursuing illustrating (and authoring) children's books.
My favorite part of the illustration process is creating characters whose personality jumps off the page and whose story is just begging to be told. Some of the most fun things to draw (in my opinion) are smart girls, chubby animals, and bearded men.
When I'm not drawing, you can find me procrasti-baking, making puppets, or in the children's section at the library.
